Hey! It’s Been Awhile.

It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve posted anything on the blog. Looking back, it hasn’t been that long, but it feels like it since there’s been a lot of big changes in my life recently.

So, what have I been up to?

Well just for starters, I recently moved to Victoria! Although it’s only an hour south of my home town, it’s been a long time coming, and it’s been a big change. It was honestly a whirl wind of a scenario. If you didn’t already know, my boyfriend Sebastian is from Germany, and has been trying to get a work visa for years so he can permanently move to Canada. Well, in September he made the leap to move to Canada so he could actually be here for his job search (you have to have a job offer first, and then you can apply for a work visa), but after a series of unfortunate events, he couldn’t actually get the work permit until just recently. This played out by him getting a job, but not being able to work until the drawn-out application process for the visa went through. When he eventually did get the visa, we had to quickly find a place and move to Victoria (where his job is), buy a ton of furniture and things for the apartment, and go to the states (we had to leave the country to activate said visa) all in a matter of weeks. It was crazy, and busy, and stressful, but also super exciting. Like I said, this has been a long time coming, and to us… we won a huge victory (no more long distance WOOP WOOP).

So we’ve started settling into our cute little apartment in Victoria, where I get to work from home still for Ampersand Media, and take quick drives to one of the many beaches close to us on my lunch breaks (seriously, we’re surrounded by vitamin SEA here). In all this craziness, I’ve still been working on my writing, just not here on the blog. Basically, I’ve been doing a lot of reading and research on how to improve, and actually submitting some pitches to magazines. I got a taste for the published life for the first time over December when I wrote about how to travel like a badass, and the 5 reasons digital nomads love hostels, so I’m excited to keep exploring this. I’ve also been spending an unhealthy amount of time on Pinterest (I can’t be the only one), so feel free to keep up with me there.

So far I’ve been writing about anything and everything, from zero waste/environmental tips, to travel, food, and life in general. With this in mind… I’d love to hear from YOU what you’d like me to write about. Because without your feedback, there’s a good chance I’ll keep blabbering on like this. Does anybody want that? Don’t think so.

Until next time, friends!

What a wonderful post. As far as all the loop holes with Sebastian it is definitely worth the work as he completes you and I am so happy you found a nicd little home together. Your writing is a delite and hope you continue with it. As far as Pinterest you may want to reach out to the Kardashians for therapy advive haha.

    Love ya

You won’t be short of things to write about in Victoria. I am so glad you are happy there. It’s been known for Seniors but the younger ones are growing as more jobs are available. You are still handy to the rest of the Island without the nuisance of ferry travel. Glad you and Sabastion have setup a home together. Glad to get another blog.

I love this update blog post! Everything you write is always great, but I’m obviously a super big fan of your environmental/zero waste stuff, anything food related, and Vancouver Island travel posts. Can’t wait to see your new Vic apartment. You’re the best 🙂
